| Strain description |
In mice, even a healthy individual shows proteinuria because major urinary proteins (MUPs) produced in the liver are excreted in the urine in a large quantity. This mouse strain is a strain in which the entire Mup gene cluster has been deleted by genome editing (CRISPR / Cas9). As a result, urinary MUPs (~20 kDa) have completely disappeared (see photo). The strain would be useful as a model for urinary protein research in addition to MUP research. |
